Electrical manufacturer appoints technical PR firm

Power equipment manufacturer REO UK has appointed Stafford based technical PR firm Stone Junction to handle its media relations work. The agency will also provide blogging, online content and some social media activity for REO, whose product range includes electronic controllers, components and electrical regulators.

REO was founded in 1925 and manufactures a range of products used in medium-voltage power systems. The company specialises in custom designs of components and sub-assemblies, catering for both small and large orders and is focussed on bespoke application engineering.

The electrical manufacturer has a wealth of experience in the production of wound components onto cylindrical and toroidal cores and is regarded as an expert in the latest electrical standards, regulations and directives.

REO is becoming increasingly involved in renewable energy technology, where power quality is of overriding importance. It has manufacturing operations in Germany, the US, China and India.

REO selected Stone Junction because of its ability to influence the areas of the technical media most read by engineering designers and electrical and electronic engineers. “We were also impressed with the progressive attitude of the agency, particularly its ability to translate traditional media relations work into SEO, online and social impact,” explained Steve Hughes, managing director of REO UK.

“When we work with a company like REO we find ourselves with a head start,” explained Richard Stone, managing director of Stone Junction. “We know the electrical, electronic, automation and power media so well that opportunities are much easier to spot and develop.”
