The BW155 range of brake resistors can be sealed to IP67 meaning, no need for special housings and their EMC glands and cabling ensure that RFI emissions are kept to a minimum, important for EN12015 compliance. Their construction and high impulse rating mean that the resistors are compact but much less liable to fail than less sophisticated designs.
Speaking to a customer this week, led me to an interesting thought. Whilst our turnover is only slightly less this year than last (around 4%) we did both agree that trading had not been straightforward and that we were pleased to see the back of 2009. At the beginning of the year the operating conditions did seem much worse and our expectation of 2009 was not encouraging.
An energy-optimizing, modular test system that significantly reduces the energy required for proving trials of industrial electrical equipment has been developed by REO. Its modular construction permits it to be adapted to individual customer specifications whilst its energy efficiency helps drive down the base cost of products.
With gas and oil reserves becoming increasingly scarce there is considerable emphasis on new technology aimed at maximizing yield from wells. Amongst the companies endeavoring to satisfy this demand is the UK-based company Corac Group plc who are developing their 'Downhole Gas Compressor' technology.
Joint replacement has become relatively common place and is now more successful than ever. This is due to a large extent to the improved planning and increased precision of the procedure. Experience of the surgeons plays an important part in this but, possibly, even more so is the technology employed.
REO has just supplied a second custom-engineered variable AC power supply to the Middle East Technical Services (METS) in Saudi Arabia. METS is an electrical engineering company involved with infrastructural projects involving Power Distribution, Telecommunications, Monitoring & Surveillance systems, SCADA, DC & UPS systems and Information Technology (IT) applications.
Usually the company sells stand alone drives but some customers have applications that demand a package that ensures optimum system functionality and protection both from harmonic distortion. The company also offers a solution for energy dissipation for when drives might be exposed to returned energy from the driven motor during braking of high inertia loads.
As a manufacturer of frequency converters / inverters and UPS units with customers from around the world involved in the aerospace, military (UK and overseas) and ocean-going yacht industries, Effekta (UK) Ltd use only the best components for its systems.
REO has added a high voltage unit to its range of braking resistors. It is ideal for dynamic braking applications involving large frequency converters or as a charging resistor for rail applications.
