To celebrate the launch of its new train power magnetics website, power quality specialist, REO, is offering Twitter users the chance to win a Hornby model train set worth £ 200. The new site is the home of REO's services in the maintenance, replacement and repair of rail components. Twitter users that retweet REO's competition tweet and follow @REO_UK will be entered into a prize draw to win the quality model train set.
REO's new train power magnetics service will build on the five decades of experience that REO has in the industry, including 15 years of manufacturing rail components. The aim of the service is to decrease the costs and increase the lifetime of railway components. The company achieves this by offering on going maintenance and replacement of worn parts, as well as developing and producing replacement components, certified and tested to industry standards.
Due to the natural aging of products, REO also offers a range of components for power supplies used in drives. These products replace those that have reached the end of their lifespan and are developed and produced according to international standards. The range includes chokes and transformers, which are built to meet the demands of rail services.
"To celebrate the launch of our new train power magnetics website, we're offering enthusiasts the opportunity to win a great model train," explained Steve Hughes, managing director of REO UK. "We know how passionate many enthusiasts are about the maintenance and upkeep of model trains. They take great care of their train sets and display great attention to detail in their upkeep. In the same way and on a much larger scale, REO works with the rail industry to deliver leading rail technology.
“REO works across global rail networks to ensure that power quality is stable and reliable. It is vital that rail components are regularly maintained and kept up-to-date for safety reasons and REO products are designed to exceed even the most stringent regulations.
"For example, the REO three-phase inverter transformer, a product that is used on the train in conjunction with an auxiliary inverter to provide galvanic separation of the DC link voltage, is vibration and shock tested to the IEC 61373 standard. These tests simulate the harshest of environments the product will face over the course of its product lifecycle ensuring quality. "
REO's train power magnetics service benefits from the company's experienced research and development (R&D) team, who develop products for all of REO's services. The company can also produce prototypes and samples in its factories so customers can visualize their product before they order.
