REO UK donate to local charity this festive season

Shropshire-based power quality specialist REO UK is breaking from the tradition of giving Christmas cards and choosing to share some goodwill instead. This year, REO is getting into the festive spirit by donating money to the Severn Hospice in place of mailing cards.

The hospice will receive the festive donation before the holidays get underway. The funds will contribute to helping the hospice continue to provide the best possible care to people living with incurable illnesses, as well as offering support to their families across the festive period.

“It’s very easy to get so swept up in the spirit of Christmas and forget about all the services that will continue providing life-changing support,” said Steve Hughes, managing director of REO UK. “So instead of giving cards this year, we’re offering a helping hand to a great charity that tirelessly helps hundreds of people across the local community through an emotional time of year.”

The Severn Hospice is an independent charity that gives care and support to more than 2,800 local people across the Shropshire, Telford and Mid-Wales regions each year. Its services are funded through a combination of generous donations, fundraising and some NHS grants.

“We are very grateful for the donation from REO UK,” said Dan Smith, Fundraising Officer for the hospice. “Severn Hospice needs to raise nearly £7 million every year to enable us to continue providing care and support to people living with incurable illnesses in Shropshire and Mid Wales. We are only able to do this thanks to the incredible generosity of our local community.”

REO UK is a manufacturer and provider of power quality solutions across a wide range of industries, including healthcare and medical. Its transformers play an important role in assuring electrical safety for patients, caregivers and doctors.

Anybody interested in supporting the work of the Severn Hospice can do so by participating in its 12 days of Christmas lottery to win a £5,000 jackpot. Supporters can purchase tickets until Friday 11 December from Severn Hospice shops, the hospices in Apley and Bicton or by calling the lottery team on +44 (0)158 673 411
